Our habits and our routines have changed substantially due to the corona virus. We are also experiencing these changes happening in our lifestyle every day.

Changes in social, economic understanding and lifestyle have been observed after many major disasters of history. Even in the era of Corona crisis, social life is being affected to a large extent in the country.

Our working style is changing from our catering and methods. These changes are going to have a big impact in the coming times. It is possible that during this time our changed habits become a permanent part of our life. Let's know how Corona has changed our lifestyle:

Corona Effect: How much our habits have changed, how our lifestyle is being affected?

Let's start with hello (Namaste)

There is a tradition in Indian culture to greet people with folded hands. When the corona epidemic spread, health experts advised to avoid the habit of shaking hands, as this disease occurring from person to person carries the highest risk of infection through hands.

In social media #dontshakehands and #namaste ie hashtags are being viral. With this, people in India also returned to their old culture of namaste, while the whole world has adopted the Indian culture of namaste instead of shaking hands.

Habit of cleaning

Fear of corona infection greatly improved our sanitation habits. The World Health Organization advised to wash hands periodically throughout the day to avoid corona.

It is necessary to wash hands with soap and water for 20 seconds. It became our habit. There was a lot of search on the Internet for the right way to wash hands.

Alcohol-containing sanitizers were also included among the other essential items to be kept nearby. We became aware of the sanitization of household items to touch surfaces.

Work from home culture

During the Corona crisis, a major change also took place in office culture. To check the transition, the IT to marketing sector has also given the facility to work from home. People are working from home instead of going to office.
According to architect experts, the structure of our workplaces can also change in the coming times. Physical distance between colleagues can be increased. Changes can also be seen from furniture to infrastructure.

Clothing and Living Changes

Due to Corona, there has been a big change in our dress and living during the announced lockdown in the country. There is no going to the office, bank or other workplace, so instead of shirt, pants, jeans, court or any other professional outfits, people are wearing comfort clothes like t-shirts, pajamas.

Working women are also wearing nightwear or other comfortable, comfortable household clothes instead of sarees, kurtis, or any other professional outfits at home. From the wardrobe collection to our fashion and style, people are seen experimenting.

New chefs getting ready in the kitchen

These days people do not go to hotels or restaurants. It is not possible to enjoy from chaat and panipuri to chole-kulache and other chattars on the streets and squares. From the sweets of North India, the delicious taste of South Indian flavors is not reaching our mouth.

In such a situation, continuous experiments are being done in the kitchen of the house itself. People are also succeeding after some efforts. There is a lot of online recipe search on the internet. People are making it at home by watching the recipe on TV too.

People who have stayed away from the kitchen are also emerging as chefs. This exercise is especially designed to prepare students and youth for the future. Today, while women are doing all kinds of jobs by stepping out of the kitchen, these days men are also participating in the kitchen with women.

Learning art

These days the urge to learn new things has increased among people. There is a plethora of online courses on the Internet. People are expanding their hobby. From singing to playing guitar, from painting to performing, from photography to gardening, people are learning a lot.

If you take a round on social media, then every third person will be seen showing their skills, increasing. People are using this lockdown period to improve their art and skills. These things will only work in the future, at least they will not cause any harm.

Digital friendly

In this digital age we have updated to a great extent. Especially in this lockdown period, while Reserve Bank Governor Shaktikanta Das has appealed for digital transactions instead of cash, this culture has increased among the people.

People are doing UPI transactions through mobile platforms like Paytm, PhonePe and Google-Pay instead of cash. Shopping is taking place online, banking is being done online, from schooling to office work and bills are also being filled online.

Even the 73% increase in online aarti searching on the internet shows that the way of people praying God has gone online.

Smoking habit

Research related to corona virus has proved that those with weak immune systems are at greater risk of infection. Smoking weakens a person's immune system and according to researchers, smokers are also at greater risk of corona infection.

So many people are now trying to quit smoking habit. Prem Kumar, who works as an area publicity officer in Chhattisgarh under the Indian Information Service, explains that the 'how to quit smoking' search on the internet has increased, which means that people are wanting to quit smoking. This is a positive change.

Free advice

During the lockdown, we are looking for answers to many questions ranging from catering to fitness, health, education, sports, inhouse activity, etc. Our curiosity has brought a wealth of tips, advice and suggestions on the Internet.

From Facebook, WhatsApp to YouTube, there are answers to all kinds of questions arising in your mind. And in this lockdown period all this knowledge is being distributed for free ie free of cost. This change may be permanent in the future. Our dependencies may increase on such platforms.

The mind used to dwell in the memories of old times

People are spending time remembering the old times amidst the restrictions of not getting out and not meeting friends. Turning old albums at home, looking at old pictures on mobile or laptop, it is nice to smile. And then by sharing and discussing these pictures on social media, people are amusing.

Here, we are being entertained on Doordarshan through serials like Ramayana, Mahabharata and on the other hand, there are 'photo challenges' like '10 years ago', 'then and now' on social media. Through these activities, our traveler's mind is traveling back to the old times.
